Can You Repair Your Own Phone Screen?
With often high costs and long wait times, sending your phone away to be fixed can be off-putting and many of us will want to try to
fix our phone screens ourselves. Fortunately, it is possible, although when it comes to iPhones, making repairs can be incredibly difficult.
You’ll need a few different tools, as well as patience and a steady hand to remove and replace your phone screen, however, you can buy phone screen repair kits online to have most of the things you need.
Essential equipment for iPhone repairs include:
- a pentalobe screwdriver
- something to heat up the phone to remove the adhesive on the screen such as a hairdryer
- a suction cup
- a pry tool
- clear duct tape or other sticky tape (to remove the screen if it’s shattered into small pieces)
Each phone is built differently, so there’s no one-size-fits-all guidance, however, there are useful videos on YouTube and instructions online so you can try to replace your phone screen yourself. However, you should note that iPhones tend to be held together with very small screws so it’s easy to lose them or mix the different screws up from different parts of your phone. You should be careful to make sure this doesn’t happen to
effectively fix your iPhone yourself.
Moreover, if you cause further damage to your phone in the process of trying to fix something, you will void the warranty for your phone, and maybe even make it more difficult (and more expensive!) for professional phone repair shops to fix your phone screen and any other damage.

The benefit of fixing your phone yourself is that it’s often much cheaper than sending it away or taking it into a phone repair shop to be fixed. So if your aim is to save time and access important information on your phone quickly, a long delivery time will render a

Is it Worth Repairing an iPhone 11 Screen?
Deciding if it’s worth repairing your old phone or just going ahead and buying a new one largely depends on how long you’ve had the phone and what your budget is. Some phone companies give you free upgrades with certain contracts, so if you’re due a new, free phone, then there’s not much point getting your old one fixed.
